Austin ISD proudly participates in the annual Austin Pride Parade, coordinated by the Austin Gay and Lesbian Pride Foundation, to demonstrate that Austin ISD is a safe, supportive and inclusive place for students and staff.
For many AISD students and teachers, the absolute best experience of the year is marching in Austin's annual Pride Parade. It's one of the most uplifting events a young LGBTQ+ person - and many not so young a person - can imagine.
AISD's participation in the parade is an important part of the district's "No Place for Hate" campaign, demonstrating to thousands of young people that the Austin Independent School District is a welcoming place. The superintendent and Austin ISD leadership are proud to march in the parade along with hundreds of our students, staff, and parents.
In 2018, more than 600 AISD students, staff, and parents took part, and this year, we need your support to help us march again. Your donation will help us provide buses for students and band member to get to the parade, provide students in the march with their own "AISD Pride" t-shirt to wear, water for hydration, pay the costs of the parade entry free, and help defray any other costs incurred.
Your support means a great deal to the hundreds of students and staff who will march to show their pride and support of an inclusive community, and to the thousands of viewers along the parade route who will be cheering when the AISD band and marchers go by.
