We are proud to announce that the Grand Island Senior High Orchestra is planning a trip to California in March, 2017. The tour will be an enriching educational experience, learning about new places and people. The focus of the trip will be attending Disney Performing Arts workshops, where the students will perform in a real Disney recording studio and learn what happens behind the scenes and how movie and television music is made. This trip fulfills the mission of the Grand Island Senior High Orchestra which is to develop individual musical artistry, ensemble excellence, and promote a lifelong enjoyment of music in each young person. The Grand Island Senior High Orchestra offers students a community of learning, sharing, and creative expression. They learn to work together as a team and to function in harmony.
Many of our students come from low income families who are having a difficult time finding the funds for their child to attend this once in a lifetime trip! We will print the names of donors in our concert programs for the 2017 year. Any business donations may also advertise on the back of our trip t-shirts for donations above $250. Any donation may be used as a tax deductible charitable donation through the Grand Island Public Schools Foundation.
