The National Speech and Debate Association hosts a debate competition for schools across the nation. Over 6,000 students and 2,000 schools go to compete for a chance at a national title. To qualify for nationals you have to place top 2 at the district tournament in your assigned NSDA chapter. We are in the LBJ NSDA chapter made up of 3A-6A public and private schools from across the DFW area.
For the first time in school history, Argyle High School debate has qualified 6 students for the National Tournament! The following students qualified in the following events:
Caleb Leonard in Congressional Debate
Kiera Shepherd and Alix Bourland in Duo Interpretation
Addison High and Grant Parris in CX Debate
Srimaan Kolanakuduru in Domestic Extemporaneous Speaking
This year the national tournament is being held in Phoenix, AZ. Due to the high cost of out of state travel, we need help raising funds to send these deserving kids to nationals. These donations will cover the costs of hotel rooms, meals, entry fees, judging fees, and transportation fees. These funds will give these kids a once in a lifetime opportunity. Please consider helping send these kids to nationals!
