Grade: All grades: Kindergarten - 5th grade
Teacher Name: Lori Moore
Description and purpose of grant: 9 Square in the Air: Playground Edition
9 Square combines volleyball and 4-square into the ultimate community game. It gets everyone playing together, regardless of skill level.
With one of our playgrounds being recently removed, 9 Square would be a valuable addition to that area. As our enrollment continues to grow with campus consolidation and boundary realignment, it’s essential that we expand the opportunities for our learners to engage in active play, build cooperation skills, and develop healthy habits. Providing more play options will help support our students’ physical, social, and emotional well-being.
Implementation process:
Once 9 Square is purchased and installed, I will introduce the game to all students during their physical education classes. Every learner at Wilson, approximately 500 students, will have the opportunity to participate and learn the game as part of our PE curriculum. In addition, the equipment will be available for use during recess, field days, and special events, further increasing student engagement and activity levels.
Because the 9 Square structure is durable and designed for long-term use, this grant will continue to support Wilson students for many school years to come, benefiting both current and future learners.
Items you plan to purchase with grant money:
9 Square in the Air: Playground Edition - $6,550.00

In the event my grant is not fully funded, this is minimum amount I would need to get started on this project:
As this is a campus-based grant, our goal is to receive the full $7,000 allocation. In the event the grant is not fully funded, the minimum amount required to initiate this project is $4,000.
This would be such a great addition to our school! We always need more outdoor activities for the children to foster teamwork and good sportsmanship!
Such a great activity for kids to learn about teamwork and cheering each other on to success!
My kid loves this and it continues helping build athleticism!!
