Grade: K-5
Teacher Name: Stacey Harris
Description and purpose of grant:
I would like to add to our kids engineering tool kits with a set of five cardboard electric Chomp Saws. These tools will help bring little ideas to LIFE. The kid safe electric cardboard table saws lift the barrier of strength and precision in cutting that is present in little hands trying to create big ideas. These child safe cardboard table saws, first seen on Shark Tank, allow even the smallest learners to precisely cut cardboard that can be used in engineering and design process challenges. Five Chomp Saws would allow EVERY class to participate with groups of five learners having their hands ON these real world tools, making real world connections to future carreer possibilities.
Implementation process:
These tools willl be put to use AS SOON as they are received as part of the engineering and design process and will be touched by EVERY learner at our school. Projects such as cardboard game night, force and motion race cars and new shoe designs will be impacted with these saws.
Items you plan to purchase with grant money:
These saws are $260.00 per saw, so any increpment of that amount will help us get to the five requestied. Any more money raised can be used to get MORE so that the group sizes could be smaller. Thank you in advance for helping us take a CHOMP! CHOMP! CHOMP! out of the cost of these innovative kid safe tools!!
In the event my grant is not fully funded, this is minimum amount I would need to get started on this project:
I can get started with $260.00 with only one saw. This is not ideal, but is better than no saw at all.
