Campaign

 Our amazing students in the AVID program would be the first in their family to go to college. AVID aims to work towards closing the opportunity gap for these students with challenging circumstances, many of which are English language learners. In this class, we strengthen writing, reading comprehension, math, and many interpersonal/social skills to prepare for the professional world and a fulfilling life.

One of THE MOST important aspects of the AVID program is going on field trips to College Campuses. Students that have experience on a college campus are statistically more likely to feel comfortable, at ease, and successfully complete a four-year degree. It is much easier to work toward your future when you can actually VISUALIZE that future. Your generous donation will help our hard working students to visualize their success!

• At $250 per local school bus, we would need $2,250 to take all 400 of our students on just ONE local field trip

• At $1500 per Charter Bus, we would need $4500 to take each grade level on ONE field trip out of Austin

• Lunch for ONE field trip costs about $360-$400

Bedichek Middle School is an AVID National Demonstration School. Families choose Bedichek often because they want their student in the AVID program, and to have the opportunity to visit college campuses. Please help us accomplish our goal of sending every single AVID student on a field trip!
