Purpose and Rationale: CONFIDENCE WITH CL@RITY is an innovative, research-based community of like-minded people on a mission to help young women achieve their professional goals in the fields of STEM, law, business, and the arts.
Strategy: Our young women need confidence to achieve their career goals! Thirty five young people will commit to attend our bi-monthly cl@rity meetings that will culminate into a day trip to a local hotel to focus on professionalism, social etiquette, interview skills, healthy personal practices, and networking. Each month will feature a confidence-building theme such as goal setting, body language, modern manners, internet etiquette, self defense, and self care. There are five young women at New Tech High @ Coppell who are already champions for this cause. They will serve as our learner leaders to carry out the mission and vision that they have helped create. We are creating a safe space for women, marginalized populations, and people of color to unite for the common good. Bi-monthly meetings will include topics such as: Get Clear in the New Year, Crystal Clear Vision, Self Love, Face Your Fears, March Toward Your Goals, and Cl@rity Blooms.
External Resources: CONFIDENCE WITH CL@RITY will partner with Girls Inc. for at least one bi-monthly meeting. This meeting will utilize the Girls Inc. volunteers along with a tried and true lesson on identity. Professional women will come to speak to the members at our meetings. There are CEOs, counselors, writers, and young professionals who have already agreed to speak and mentor our NTH@Coppell learners through Cl@rity. The members will also create a presentation and take their Confidence with Cl@rity message to a partnering middle school in Coppell ISD.
Evaluation Summary: There will be a survey and a reflective writing piece offered to each member. We will also create a short video documentary highlighting the activities and the participants.
