This funding request is for ALL CISD Schools
The Texas Education Agency and CISD have purchased many items to make the school environment safe for in-school learning. A few items have been identified that further improve safety in our schools.
Student Desk Shields:

Nurse's Station:
The ultimate goal is to keep sick children, especially those with COVID19-like symptoms, separated from children who visit the nurse for other reasons, such as daily medication or diabetes treatment. Each campus will have a designated isolation area and well area. To the best of our ability, we plan to function within these two areas. However, we realize there can be challenges such as:
- The number of students isolated exceeds the isolation room capacity, and both areas are needed for isolation
- The well area is shut down for some time due to an unexpected positive case
- The number of students exceeds the ability to socially distance in either or both areas
We believe the solution is to set up mobile clinics to respond quickly to whatever comes our way. We have explored several ideas, but between facility limitations and limited personnel, we believe the carts are our best solution. The nurses can set the carts up with student supplies, including medication, and be ready to move to a hallway or nook to continue to meet student needs quickly.
