I am a dance teacher at Crockett High School in Austin, TX and I had the privilege of attending the Digital Pioneer Institute, put on by the Texas Cultural Trust, at Cedar Ridge High School in Round Rock, TX this summer. The Digital Pioneer Institute is where fine arts meets technology. It is an exciting new high school curricula that establishes the connection between traditional fine arts education and digital media instruction. I spent three days learning about the curricula and using an iPad to put together a final project from one of the lesson modules. I really want my students to experience dance coming together with technology. There's only so much that can be done on a laptop, but there is a myriad of apps that students can use to combine their dance exploration and experience with technology. Please help me provide my students with iPads and the necessary accessories to be able to use them and store them properly so that they can experience the wonderful world of fine arts and technology.
