We are excited to bring our 7th and 8th grade AVID students to Texas A&M University for a college campus tour and taste of college life during the 2023 Student for a Day event! On October 28th, our students can travel to Texas A&M University for a campus tour, football game, and opportunity to learn about the programs and elements of college life that A&M has to offer. 

AVID is a college readiness program that seeks to close the opportunity gap and make college accessible and attainable for all! A key part of the AVID program in middle school is college visits where students learn about college life, majors, programs of study, and can start to visualize themselves on college campuses. As a Title 1 campus, we want to make these opportunities available to all students, and fundraising is a key part of this process. In order to have our students attend this opportunity, we will need to raise considerable funds to ensure that all registration and transportation costs are covered.
