Literature Development helps the Band Program continue its tradition of excellece! When we purchase new and more modernized works, we are able to advance the students' understanding through musical development!
Grade: 9-12
Teacher Name: Kim Shuttlesworth
Description and purpose of grant: Literature Development would allow us to continue to service the different levels of skillsets in the band program. We have seen over the past four years a larger gap in literature options available to our students. Receiving this grant would continue to allow for proper individual and ensemble development of musical reading skills, understanding of different eras of time through music, and performances more indicative of our culture.
Implementation process: The implementation of the grant would begin immediately by purchasing works for the current year. We would also be able to plan for the future years by adding pieces that will help grow the students.
Items you plan to purchase with grant money We plan to purchase as many peices as possible with the funds. An average piece of music is $100 per piece. We would try to maximize whatever amount is given to us to pick appropriate materials.
