We are raising funds to bring Breathe For Change curriculum to our classrooms. This mindfulness approach to social-emotional learning would be implemented throughout the school as a way of incorporating mindfulness into daily classroom happenings.
Breathe For Change, a mindfulness social-emotional curriculum, is an approach to mindfulness in schools. In this program, specific yoga practices and poses have been chosen specifically for each grade level and are TEKS aligned.
Research has shown that students who are currently in this program as a school-wide initiative have demonstrated higher academic performance, a stronger sense of self, and an overall feeling of self-regulation with their emotions.
Manor Elementary would be a pilot school for this curriculum if we are given the opportunity to complete the mindfulness training this summer.
