High Tea & Release Party
Mar 23, 10:39am
Odyssey is officially at the printers! You have no idea how happy I am to let you all know. It was an enormous effort to finish in time for our high tea. Our culinary program only had one date for us, so we were tied to a much earlier deadline than anticipated. However, my fabulous editors Hailey Algoe and Violet Gelenwinkel pulled off the impossible and finished on deadline. I assure you that what they've created is stunning and professional. I am endlessly proud of these two talented young women. Also, my creative writing students also all pitched in to make sure we finished. This week has been one of the most hectic and stressful of my career, however, I wouldn't trade it for anything. So, thank you, thank you, thank you for helping us make this happen. It's a beautiful thing to watch young people create art.
Our High Tea release party will be on Monday, April 3rd at :4:30 PM in the Southwest room at James Bowie High School. I will be sending out invites this afternoon for those of you who received that "perk." The tea will feature delicious desserts and tea provided by Bowie's extraordinary culinary program. We will also have students read their work from the magazine. If you would like to attend but did not officially get this perk, we're asking for $5 to cover costs. Also, if you qualified for a mailed copy, we will send them out following the release party.
Thank you again for your support. We can't wait for you to see the finished product.
Sincerely,
Bree Rolfe
