Our class runs on hard work and high fives. We celebrate our successes and help those who need a hand.

Some of my students have never received the opportunity to explore outside of their local area, let alone a camp that will provide them with a plethora of outdoor experiences in a different environment than they are accustomed.

Taking an overnight trip to a camp would be an experience that they will remember for quite some time. They're amazing kids who deserve an opportunity to experience new and exciting things.

This project will cover a portion of the cost to attend an overnight session at the Outdoor School. The Outdoor School offers our 5th-grade students a unique experience in natural surroundings. Students will spend two days attending classes that are grounded in natural science, conservation, and use Texas Essential Knowledge objectives as a guide to instruction.

Taking an overnight camping trip will give some students their first chance to encounter a camp of any kind.

Additional classes include personal growth opportunities through group team-building, a high ropes course, and an overnight camping event that will be a lifelong memory for these students.

The variety of outdoor educational experiences will give our students the opportunity to enjoy the outdoors with a focus on environmental stewardship and experiential learning. Students who have attended the camp in the past have returned to school with universal respect for all living things, a leap in self-confidence, experiential knowledge of science concepts, and better interpersonal skills used during group work.

The students are excited about the opportunity to go on a trip that will allow them to explore their curiosity and experience brand new things. This type of opportunity cannot be replicated in the classroom.
