The Ann Richards School for Young Women Leaders is a public, all-girls college preparatory school of choice founded to educate young women from diverse backgrounds, and serves grades 6-12 within the Austin Independent School District (AISD). The school opened in 2007 with grades 6 and 7 and had its first graduating class in 2013, when all 6-12 grades were represented.
The Band program has grown considerably over the years, becoming the largest student organization on campus with almost a quarter of the school involved. The Ann Richards Marching Stars is the nation's only all-female competitive marching band. They have competed in UIL Marching Contests, Bands of America Regionals, and local contests in and around Austin.
We are raising money for the Fall 2021 season's expenses, including travel, private lessons, meals, additional help, competition show design, and of course, to help us get to New York City and represent the State of Texas in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade! Any donation amount will help the Marching Stars have a successful return to the field after a year off!
Thank you for your support, and Go Stars!
We love supporting strong, talented young women. What an amazing opportunity. -The Eldorado Cafe
I, too, was a female percussionist in high school, and we girls have to stick together!
So proud of our great-niece, Caroline Winslow. Can't wait to watch her march in NYC!
Friend's daughter is in the band
Congratulations ladies!
I was in public school bands and they were among the most memorable times in my 80 years. I’m pleased to help girls and women especially.
