AVID is a college and career readiness program created to teach students strategies for succeeding academically in secondary and higher education.  We emphasize access to higher education for students who may not typically learn the skills and strategies needed to succeed in college. Part of the curriculum is to learn about and compare various colleges through field trips.  This year, Murchison AVID students have visited UT Austin and Southwestern University.  The third visit was selected by the AVID 8th grade students who chose a visit to Baylor university.  Due to the distance of the trip, we must use charter buses.  Earlier in the year, students raised a portion of the money, but it was not enough to pay for this trip's charter buses. The three buses will cost $4,500.00.  Please help us to raise these funds so that all students in the Murchison AVID program can attend this field trip.
