About the Fun Run
The Wellness Committee at Belgrade Middle School is excited to invite you to our fitness awareness event for all! The Fun Run is one of our school’s largests fundraisers of the year, and we are reaching out to parents, family members, and friends to support our school community. We strive to promote health and wellness in our school and create more opportunities for our staff and students at BMS. Creating a culture of wellness to eliminate stress, support mental health, provide resources, encourage movement, and recognize healthy habits are just a few of our goals.
Last year's funds helped purchase healthy snacks for students and staff, fidgets for testing and anxiety, uniforms for athletics, outdoor sports equipment, and a large storage shed where students can check out items for their use during recess time. We could not have done this without the suppport of our community and PTK. A large part of our goal is to work towards updating our playground, which may take time, due to cost. The fun run is our best fundraiser towards supporting this goal. Each participant may raise funds by asking family, friends, community members, and businesses to sponsor them based on the number of laps they run or walk. Sponsors can pledge per lap or a flat donation.
Students and classes will also have an opportunity to earn a number of prizes and awards based on their participation in the Fun Run. This year's theme is 'Running Through the Decades'! We are asking participants to wear attire from past decades to show school spirit (70's, 80's, 90's, and 2000's)! Over 1,000 students will run with their grade level classes around the football field for about 30 minutes. Please see the attached flyer or click on the link provided for more information about the event!
*There is an additional way to support wellness in our schools by purchasing a Panther Decal for $5.00, which enters you into a drawing to win fabulous prizes! Please know that we can not accept credit card purchases in order to abide by the Montana Department of Justice, Gambling Control Division. Eligible prizes are accessible to view by clicking on the next image at the top of this webpage. Anyone who purchases a Panther Decal will be added to an online raffle drawing site, where names will be drawn at random. Decals can be picked up in the BMS main office May 13-May-31.
