The New Campus Capital Campaign is now closed Over the course of the campaign we raised over $170K toward a $220K goal. Participation in the campaign was high, with well over half the families in the school gifting generous donations to the campaign. Thank you to every family who made this possible. While we didn’t end up meeting the very ambitious goal, the raised funds will be covering cover the essential needs, health, safety, functionality and aesthetics of the new site.
While the official campaign has ended, we recognize that you might be inspired to contribute at a later date. If you’d like to do so, you can always donate by check or with a paypal account at paypal.me/berkeleyrose. Any additional contributions will go towards projects that did not get funded this time around, such as the outdoor play yards, fencing, lazure painting, and additional classroom buildouts.
Berkeley Rose opened its doors seven years ago with the ambitious goal of starting an urban school in the heart of Berkeley that is inspired by Waldorf education. Since then, enrollment has grown at a remarkable rate each year, reflecting not only the appeal of our truly magical school, but also the national trend placing Waldorf education at the forefront of one of the fastest growing, independent school movements in our country.
This September, Berkeley Rose will open a second campus south of UC Berkeley. Transforming this facility will require a two-phase renovation process. The space needs a fenced, drop-off play area at curbside, new flooring, a fresh coat of paint, a security system, furnishings and fixtures for new classrooms including the creation of a new kindergarten, administrative offices and a multi-purpose performance/meeting space.
The cost for the renovations will be $220,000.
We have raised $145,000 from seed donors to date!
We need another $75,000 in order to complete phase one and open its doors in Sept. 2016.
We welcome any donation large or small to help support this exceptional school!
Please share the word with family, grandparents and friends!
