GEAR UP’s main goal is to provide students information about various universities and careers, monitor and assist them in making goals for growth, and ensure students and families take the necessary steps to get accepted and enroll in college. Over the last 3 years, we have visited job sites including Univision, CommUnity Care Clinic, Silicon Labs and the Texas Performing Arts Center. Increasing these students’ excitement and preparedness for college is of the utmost importance.

We pride ourselves on being a STEM magnet school housing the Innovation Academy. On December 3rd, we plan to take 40 students to San Antonio, Texas to first visit the Toyota Plant. At the Toyota Plant, students will see a Toyota Tundra be made from start to finish. They will get to see the machinery, engineering, and design that goes into every car. Once we leave the Toyota Plant we will head to Texas A&M - San Antonio, where we have a school-sponsored tour. Students will learn about the many programs Texas A&M - San Antonio has to offer. 

Donations will help with the cost of the bus to get to San Antonio from Austin.
