  • The art room is often the last place to be considered for technology funds.  For years I asked for a document camera because I knew the amazing potential it had for the art room. When I finally received one, it changed the way I taught & presented information to my students!  After 16 years teaching elementary art,
  • I believe technology is not just good to have in the art room, but a necessity.

  • Last year I had a student teacher that would bring her iPad every day.  She used it to capture the different stages of a child's work.  She would use it to pull up images quickly for students that needed to see what  "_____" looks like & would allow them to keep the iPad in front of them till they got a handle on how to draw the image.  She would use it to do informal assessments while students waited in line for their teacher to pick them up.  I watched her use her iPad as if it were an appendage, and  I knew there were even more that could be done with such technology.   I have been reading about how other teachers are using iPads in their classroom, and how to best utilize such a resource.
ANY AMOUNT IS A BLESSING...WHAT IS LISTED ON THE SIDE ARE RECOMMENDATIONS, BUT GIVE AS YOU FEEL LED! EVERY DOLLAR IS ONE MORE CLOSER TO THE GOAL!

  • Your contribution is so much more than for an iPad ...it is saying you believe in the value of art education & that art should have access to the necessary technology to run a 21st century art room!

I know first hand how great an IPad is in the classroom. Our school raised a lot of money for student IPads last year. Thanks also for all the great art ideas.

Would love to see how the iPad helps your classroom. This coming week, we are launching a new "classroom mode" where students can submit their own artwork (teacher approved) to their school Artsonia site. Maybe you can try us out? (No worries, either way)
