McCallum High School Ballet Folklórico has been in existence for over 20 years. We have brought the music and dance of Mexico to elementary schools, Jr. Highs, hospitals, daycares, nursing homes, city, county and State Hispanic Heritage celebrations. The smiles and joy my students give to their audience is a colorful sight to behold. We are needing your help to replace worn, damaged and faded costumes and accessories. The Ballet Folklorico Dance team also coordinates the Campus wide Quinceañera. It is a huge part of the Hispanic culture that has become far too expensive for our families. We use donated, borrowed and rented quince dresses and suits. In order to make dreams come true...the Ballet Folklorico needs your help to cover the cost of a DJ, Mariachis, Limo car prop and hall rental. It is a colorful family and community event. Last of all, the Ballet Folklórico hosts the Annual 5 de Mayo show for the McCallum Campus. All funds raised will be for the benefit of the Ballet Folklórico Team and their respective activities and needs. We are a diverse group that believes that the dances, music and costumes of Mexico are a beautiful part of the Hispanic culture that must continue to be promoted and appreciated for the benefit of our students and our community.
