Alumni, Parents and Friends of Pirate Baeball, as many of you know, it has been a past practice of mine to submit a request to compete in climates conducive to baseball over spring break. Unlike years past, on 10/18/23 our proposal was approved and we have accepted an invitation to compete in the Hoover Buccaneer Classic, a national tournament played in Birmingham (Hoover), Alabama. The spring of 2024 will mark my final season (34th) and the first time in the history of our program that we will compete out of state, at a national tournament, over spring break. It is our intention to arrive in Birmingham, Alabama on Monday 3/25 and return back to Palatine on Saturday 3/30 in the evening. In all, a roster of 28 athletes and 4 coaches will compete in 7 scheduled games (4 Varsity and 3 Varsity B), organized team practices on college facilities and team building initiatives. This opportunity will come at an estimated total cost per player of $1,250.00. All Athletes and families will participate in a series of fundraising events that will help reduce the per player cost, so that NO ATHLETE WILL BE EXCLUDED BECAUSE OF RESOURCES OR FINANCIAL HARDSHIP.
Sincerely yours in baseball,
Coach Paul Belo
Good Luck Pirates!
From the Pirate Baseball Class of 2013! Good luck on the trip and do us Pirate Baseball Alum proud! Go Pirates!
Coach Belo has been a great friend to the Pohl Family since he took the 2000 Fremd team to the Illinois State Tournament. Besides being a talented baseball coach he is also a wonderful mentor to the young men that have played for him. Congratulations Paul on a impressive coaching career. Bring home some hardware from the trip south. The Pohl Family
