Raider Football Challenge
We are starting a new era of Reagan Raider Football. We will need continued support to make sure we don't lose any ground or momentum. In a world of where equity in public education remains elusive, the great equalizer has shown to be private donations, like yours.
Reagan Alum Elliott Hill has issued the Raider Football Challenge.

Annual equipment Supplement - $5,000
Reagan receives a budget from AISD to purchase equipment for our athletes. We are able to buy some of the things that we need with this. But in order to get the things we need, we have to supplement that budget with donations. This allows us to build a program that competes with the same equipment as other schools that have much larger budgets. Shoulder pads, helmets, cleats, and all of the uniform and practice garments and accessories are purchased with this money.
Annual Budget for Away Game Food for Team - $1,200
When we travel over a certain distance, it becomes necessary to feed our players on the return trip home. We do this for all 3 levels of our program (9t h, JV & Varsity). It costs about $200 to feed a team. This is something that is a given for most programs. Sadly, it has become something that urban districts and schools simply can’t provide. The kids don’t even expect it anymore. So we think it is important to provide this.
General Weight Room Equipment Upgrade - $5000
The weight room may have been the most important aspect of our improvement over the last 4 years. We have done almost nothing to upgrade most aspects of the equipment we have in the weight room. We are in need of a set of dumbbells, more weight bars, and more weights of the 10 lb. and 5 lb. variety. Weights are very costly. This upgrade would get us one step close to par concerning our weight room facilities.
Branded Media Background for Events - $1500
These are the backgrounds that you see at events where there are photo ops. We don’t have one of these for the football program. We need to have a custom background made, and purchase an accompanying portable structure that will allow us to easily set up our background at any event.
Custom Floor Mats x 4 - $1,200
This is for the main entrance to the athletic facility, 2 for the big gym foyer, and one for the girls facility entrance. It would give the facility a welcoming feeling and show off our brand as soon as someone steps foot into the facility.
Game Day Skinz Helmet Application for 2018 Season - $3,000
One of the new trends in the game, nationwide is playing a number of games during the middle or end of your season with a different helmet. Purchasing helmets would cost thousands of dollars, so this company comes in and applies a “skin” to the helmet. It essentially gives the option of having a “new” helmet during the season. We did this last year and it was a huge hit. It put our program on the map. We were the only Austin ISD school to do it, and it provided a great media boost for the program for the game where Mulbah broke the rushing record and we beat McCallum 48-14 for the first time in a decade.
Endzone Camera & “Air Potato” System Upgrade - $7500
One of the things that competitive teams need to do is capture an end zone angle of games. This means we need an end zone camera telescoping system. You see these devices in the end zone of football games that you attend. Also, there is new technology that connects the end zone camera and the sideline camera angles (wide & tight). This is called an “air potato” system. It allows the cameras to capture the same play from different cameras and send it to a laptop that is live capturing the video during the game. This technology is expensive, and many of the schools with low resources just go without it. We want to give our kids this 3rd angle of game film so they have the same opportunity to improve as the teams we will face in pre-district and the playoffs.
