***Update: Thank you SO MUCH to everyone who has participated in this fundraiser! We hit our target, and I was able to complete my first marathon. I didn't set any speed records, but I fought through leg cramps and sore knees and accomplished my goal. I'm so thankful for the support of the LBJ Baseball community.***
Some of our players have played baseball for years. Others had never played baseball when they joined our team. But they all show up and learn and practice and run the bases. They challenge themselves and they inspire me. So now I'm trying something new. I've never run a marathon before, but on Sunday, Feb. 19, I'm going to run the Austin Marathon to hopefully raise enough money to get these guys the new baseball hats and jerseys they work for and deserve.
It's a privilege to coach this team and I'd be so grateful if you'd consider chipping in — whether it's $1 or $26.2 — or spreading the word about this campaign. We're so grateful for the support of our community.
Go Jags! And wish my creaky old knees luck in the race...
