OPA is excited to provide 6th grade Champions with the opportunity to attend AstroCamp as an overnight field trip this year.
AstroCamp is a unique outdoor science school providing exciting lab and outdoor science experiences for students. The focus is on hands-on experiential science, utilizing state-of-the-art labs and equipment, increases science literacy and stimulates interest in the sciences. AstroCamp’s expert instructors guide students through an exploration of the universe with astronomy labs, physical science labs, field exercises, and team-building activities. AstroCamp is designed to stimulate minds, build character, develop social skills, and most importantly, create excitement about science. During the three day program, students and teachers participate in a variety of science activities.
Confirmed Dates: (Only OPA SOC and OPA SV students will be at the camp during these dates)
6th Grade - May 22-24th (2 nights, overnight)
Location:
AstroCamp is located in the small town of Idyllwild in the San Jacinto Mountains. It is 5,600 feet in elevation and covers 92 acres of meadows and forest.
Cost:
$440 per student which includes the transportation to and from the camp, all gear and activities, food, and a t-shirt.
