Throughout the next month, Fremd and Rolling Meadows HS are partnering with Special Spaces to transform a bedroom for Will, a very special young boy. Our community outreach program is dedicated to making a difference in our community. This charge is one that we feel very passionate about, one that will provide new experiences for our students, and one that we hope can bring happiness to our community members.
Will is 12 and was diagnosed with Leukemia in May of 2023. He is currently undergoing treatment, but is doing well!
On February 10th, Fremd and Rolling Meadows High School students will be remodeling Will's bedroom and we need your help. Our goal is to raise $5,000 for this project. Go Vikes and Go Mustangs!!!
Special Spaces is a nonprofit organization that creates dream bedroom makeovers for children with cancer. This national organization was started by one mom doing one room in Knoxville, TN. As their passion for the mission evolved, her grassroots team grew. Special Spaces now spans 14 states with over 50 volunteer directors who have helped create over 1,300 dream bedroom makeovers. 200 or those dream bedrooms were right here in Illinois.
With the child as the main designer and Pinterest board in tow, we design, plan and create their unique space. Your generosity makes their wildest dreams come true… a Star Wars room, Lego room, princess room, we can do that. Your donations help them spend time not thinking about their next chemo, stem cell transplant, or their next 8 days in the hospital, but dream of their new bedroom that is lovingly built and tailor-made just for them. And we make that all happen in just one day. Changing children’s Lives - One Child. One room. One Day at a time. Click here to see how our bedroom makeovers impact the lives of the families we work with.
Our students will be raising funds for the bedroom as well as volunteering on February 10th to create the bedroom of Will's dreams!
Any money raised above our initial goal will be applied to our future community outreach projects.
