Powerlifting is where we put the athletes in the factory! Building their foundation of physical strength, discipline, and focus. The primary goal is to maximize strength in the squat, bench press, and deadlift. Powerlifters train to increase the maximum amount of weight they can lift in these three exercises. Competitions are based on the total weight lifted across these lifts, with athletes divided by weight class. Last season we had 16 girls and 2 boys make regionals with 5 girls and 2 boys advancing to state. We look to continue to build off last season with another successful year. Powerlifting has a supportive and inclusive community, offering a sense of belonging and motivation from all lifters. We plan to use our fundraiser to purchase equipment, gear, and any other expenses that come our way.
*Temple ISD provisions all campuses, departments and programs with the resources and opportunities needed to educate students. Fundraisers provide a supplemental opportunity to provision our students with additional resources and opportunities.
