Truesdell orchestra students’ hard work this year has granted them top scores at District Common Assessments where they earned an Award of Excellence. Truesdell Middle School orchestra students have received high praise from area orchestra professionals at the Wichita State University Middle School Invitational, Solo and Ensemble Festival, and other clinics with orchestral conductors from around the state.
The largest portion of the money fundraised will be used to send the Truesdell Honor Orchestra to Worlds of Fun in Kansas City in May to perform at the Festival of Music, the premiere competition for Missouri (and surrounding states) bands, orchestras and choirs. Costs associated with this trip include a charter bus, entrance fees to the competition, and meals for twenty-four 7th and 8th grade students.
The end of the school year does not mean the end of engaging and rewarding experiences for Truesdell Orchestra students. This summer, students will have opportunities to grow their music skills, learn from orchestral leaders, and perform music in unexpected places. We need your help raising funds for these eager and hardworking students!
We are raising funds to help students attend Bethany College’s High School Instrumental Camp in Lindsborg, Kansas, the Delano Youth Orchestra summer program, and the Northeast Area String Academy of Wichita (NASAW). This is a great way for students to learn from area professionals and to keep them playing their instruments with their peers during the summer months while they are away from school.
Your contribution will give students the opportunity to experience music with other students while learning from some of the best orchestral musicians in the area. These experiences will set them up for success next school year as they either continue playing at Truesdell or begin their high school education.
Thank you for your support!
You’re doing great things by keeping music thriving in the youth!
Love that these students are getting opportunities to make music during the summer!
Yay Truesdell!
I hope Truesdell students enjoy the experience!
Go Truesdell!!!
Keep up the good work!
